Paula is nowhere to be found. So, that leaves Simon and Randy

1) Chris Bernheisel (sp?)

This guy is like Santa... he brought gifts for all the judges
Well... a flaming Santa... very effeminate
He busts into tears talking about how much he wanted to audition
He's a big Kelly Clarkson fan, and sings one of her songs.
The fact that he's dancing while he's singing means he's a goner.
His singing is bad, too!
Randy and Simon tell him no.
Then he auditions to be a red carpet reporter! Yeah, he'd fit in with that!
Simon tells him to call the local FOX affiliate and get them to send him down for the season finale.
Chris is ecstatic! He thinks he just won Miss America, or something!

And after one contestant, we're off to commercial break!

2) Jason Rich
From Stout, Iowa... only 500 people in that town!
He started off good, but then forgot the lyrics. Not good.
He tries again, but forgets again.
Third time's a charm... he gets a second line off... that's it.
One more time. Simon is getting frustrated.
Ok, he's moving through the song now. He's really not bad.
The judges are compassionate. Randy and Simon both say yes.
Simon warns him not to forget the words again, or else he's gone.

Finally Paula is here! Instead of being nowhere... she is now-here! Aren't I clever!

Now, in tribute to Jason Rich, a big montage of people forgetting lyrics!

Paula is now asleep... maybe.

Ok, next up is a bit of a tomboy! She is arm-wrestling people in the waiting room!
She is now arm-wrestling Ryan! She then challenges Simon when she gets in the audition room. Simon says he knows he would get beat.
She has won six arm-wrestling championships! Let's see if she can sing!
3) Rachael Wicker
She has a soft country voice. Simon says she sounds like she's at the end of her career. Randy complains about her voice slipping into yodel sounds.

R: Yes
P: Yes
S: No

She's through to Hollywood. Then she arm-wrestles Paula. Paula presents no challenge.

And another commercial break. Hope they're making plenty of money!

Ok, back from commercial. Next up is:

4) Sarah Whittaker
Former professional wrestler.
Goth-girl. She went by the stage name "Lady Morgue"
She attacks Ryan with a chest slap.
Her singing is slapping the ears off the judges!
AHHHHHH..... SHE'S SINGING TINY TIM!!!!!!!
LIVING IN THE SUNLIGHT!!!!!!!
I keep picturing Naruto in Naruto Abridged.

All judges: No

Ryan comes in to her defense, and the judges offer for him to do their job. So, Paula steps out to take Ryan's job, and Ryan assumes his post as Pseudo-Paula, and the next contestant comes in.

5) Samantha Sidley
Ryan ruffled her feathers a bit.
She is singing a Norah Jones song.
Very old-fashioned voice.
Ryan is critical of her stage the presense.
The judges ream him for his opinions, and Paula comes to her defense.

P: Yes
S: Yes
Ryan: Yes

Now, a montage of good singers, all of who made it through... apparently, the flood-gates opened.

6) Elizabeth Erkert
7) Didn't catch her name, but she looks like Fantasia. Ugh
8) Michael Sanfilippo

9) Angelica Puente
She lives with her grandparents, and she had moved out of her parent's house.
She had had a falling out with her father, but after a message she left for him on his voicemail of her singing, he paid for her trip to Omaha to audition.
She is singing a Celine Dion song. The judges say she is too mimic-y, but the judges like her voice.

R: Yes
P: Yes
S: Yes

Afterwards, Ryan calls her father, and they both let him know the good news. He says he is proud and that his daughter has always been his American Idol.

10) David Cook
He is completely punked out! Partial mohawk, partially dyed hair. Partial goatee... he's a bit of every goth/rock/punk stereotype!
And not a bad singer, to boot! One of the better ones from Omaha.

Next up, a self-proclaimed weird guy. He wears a sparkly-gold jacket.
He sends Paula into a case of hiccups!
11) Johnny Escamilla
And he's dancing, while singing "Shout"... ugh... he just scared Paula's hiccups away!
Simon said that was a pretty much a summary of everything he hates. The clothing, the look, the singing, the dancing....

And after that freak show, the final commercial of the day!

12) Leo Marlowe
Hee hee... that rhymes!
From another small town... 200 people.
He is a bit of a comedian.
He says his mother raised him in a house fit for a queen, too bad the queen wasn't one of her daughters.
He is actually a decent singer. Simon likes him. May be the one with the best chance to make it to the final twelve from the Omaha audition.
Paula signals touchdown! (GO BEEF!!!!!)
