Ok, this was one of my more "interesting" nights. The setting takes place at my apartment, where I had been doing laundry, watching TV, and playing on the computer. Same ol' same ol' until.....

(drumroll....)

I hear a thud, and then I see something flying right into one of my walls, with Adolph in close pursuit. The first thought that crossed my mind was "Oh great... a bird got in here somehow". Unfortunately, it was "not" a bird, not a bird at all! Nope, not a bird, but a BAT!!!

This creepy bat then starts flopping and trying to fly up again, but each time it moves, Adolph is there "batting" it out of the sky, chasing and whacking it as it flops itself under one of my couches, and then underneath my computer table! So, I had to get away from the computer in a hurry. The furry flying rodent finally became airborne, and began flying in circles around my apartment, in each rotation, making a note to position its trajectory towards my face! So, there was a lot of dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge in my movements. Finally, it latched itself onto one of my window screens, and seemingly fell asleep there.

It was at this time that I noticed Anastasia online, so I began chatting with her to tell her about my adventures thus far. We got on the webcam, because she wanted to see the bat. I turned on the cam and pointed it to the window where the bat was resting, but you could barely make it out. We talked for a little while, while I was getting up occassionally and checking on the bat's status. Anastasia had to sign off of the webcam for a little bit, but I told her to "nudge" me or something when she got back on.

Over time, Anastasia was back online, and we were doing a little bit of text chatting, because her webcam, for some reason, would not accept my incoming requests. While she was trying to fix the issue with her cam, I got up again to look at the bat up close. It had started scurrying around the window screen a little bit, so I went to check on it. Then, the unthinkable happened.... Anastasia's webcam started working.

Now, I realize this may not sound like that big of a deal, but when she got the cam working, she sent me a video chat request. The noise that the request made was similar to that of a loud bell phone ringing, a noise that the bat obviously did not take too kindly to. For at this ear-piercing ring, the bat dove off of the screen into instant flight once more. Of course, it had once again aimed for my face, so I fell to the ground, which set off one of my cat's electronic toys; a robotic mouse that goes into a flurry of "UH-OH... NYA NYA NYA NYA NYA's". The bat didn't like this noise either, so it circled around to try to attack me once again. I rolled out of the way, with Adolph's toy going berzerk, and the "webphone" ringing off the hook! And of course, this time, Adolph wasn't even making an attempt to go after the bat. She was just watching it fly around.

The bat finally came to rest inside one of my floor lamps. Thank goodness it wasn't turned on! I finally got to the computer to accept Anastasia's video chat request, and explained the situation to her. I pointed the webcam to the lamp, where you could see the silouette of the bat inside. After turning the cam to its prior position, the bat took off again, and proceeded its mission to attempt to knaw my face off! This time, though, the webcam was catching it all, and Anastasia was watching and laughing hysterically as I repeatedly jumped out of the way of the bat multiple times. After several dodges, the bat returned to the same window screen as before.

Finally, I was able to get a butter bowl, and begin sneaking up on the bat. I got within a foot of it, and placed the bowl overtop of the bat and against the screen. While holding the bowl with one hand, I detached the screen with the other hand, and slid the screen out from the window while keeping the bat pinned inside. The creature was finally in custody! I walked the trapped critter over to the webcam, where I displayed the bat through the screen to Anastasia. I then placed the bowl on the ground and started sliding the screen off of the bowl until the bat let go, and fell inside. It was then that I removed the screen and placed a dish towel overtop of the bowl, and carried the bat outside and released it. I had left the dish towel and bowl outside, so I could rush back in and put my window screens back in before it could decide to fly back into my apartment!

Well, that's my story for the day. Hope y'all enjoyed it. Leave me comments! :)

Ok, on with the madness! In case nobody has noticed, I am now streaming my webcam to my profile! Great, now even more people than ever can invade my privacy!!!

The last time I posted, I was on the butt-end of an all-nighter. I am happy to announce that after I posted that and went to bed, I got 16 HOURS OF SLEEP!!! That's right! I can sleep with the best of them! Now, if only I could get on a "real" sleep schedule, I'd be all set!

Methinks Oliver and Tim are coming over tonight... don't know what we'll do... probably one or more of the following: Play Smash Bros., Play SC3, Play MTG, Watch Naruto, Watch Bleach, Kick Pikachu down the hall... ok, I'll definitely be booting the Chu at some point in the night, irregardless of whether or not I have company or not... did that actually make sense?

Ok, it's time for me to find something to eat for dinner, and then I'm going to be cleaning house some... catch all y'all later!
