Ok, on with it...
Today started as any other normal work day... almost getting into a wreck on the interstate! You see, there is this one entrance ramp on my route to work where motorists forget all of the basic rules of who has the right-a-way. Is that how it's spelled? Oh, who cares.... Anywho, I have had to do more defensive driving in that one area of highway than in any other stretches of highway combined in my lifetime. So, to make a long story short, a car almost sided me coming on to the highway, because he wasn't yielding where he was supposed to yield. Just another drive to work, I guess!
Well, at work at least, things got a lot better. Whodathunkit? Monday, at work, is better? Well, in case anybody didn't know, my programming job with this company, albeit fulltime, is still only a contract position. Yes, I get taxes taken out, and I'm very well paid, but currently receive no benefits. Well, Friday, this kinda all started, but today, the situation became more solidified. I got offered a fully-employed position at the company, with a full benefits package, and a substantial increase in salary! I would have been happy with just the benefits added on to my existing salary, but now I will be getting an extremely larger paycheck, with all the benefits added on! So yeah, you can see how that cheered me up pretty quick!
Well, after work, it was on to the next big item of the day! And that was working with a group from my church to rearrange a music supplemental book we use. You see, in addition to our normal songbooks, we also have an added collection of other songs that don't appear in the normal book, but some of the songs in this supplemental either were never used, or were repeats from the big book. Plus, we had some new and future songs we wanted to add. So, we spent about an hour and a half rearranging music. And then we spent another hour on the final task of that meeting. You see, my mom had written her own hymn, and I had arranged its music, so in order to prepare it for teaching at our next singing practice, we had to get it recorded. Luckily, all of the ones who were gathered to do the musical rearranging were also pretty good singers. Yes, it was arranged that way! Anywho, after all of the arranging was done, we got out my mom's song, practiced the different parts, did a couple of test tracks, and finally got the entire song recorded! So, at our next singing practice, we will be debuting the song and teaching it to our church members. Didn't turn out too bad.
Final note of this blog... My internet sucks! I spent a good bit of time on the phone with my ISP's customer service trying to get my internet connection problems fixed. Well, unfortunately, it is going to take a service call, so I have to find somebody to be at my house on the day of the call, so I don't have to take time off work. Yeah, right now, I have high-speed cable internet that is literally running at dial-up speeds. Not good.
