A third of the weekend is now over. It feels kind of weird saying "a third" instead of "half", but that's what I love about three day weekends! You get all the extra time in the world to get absolutely nothing accomplished! Well, I'm actually kidding about that comment, because I did get into a lot today, despite sleeping in until about 12:30.
Almost as soon as I got up today, I was rumbling down the interstate to get my front tires checked out. You see, I had to get some new bearings put in my wheels, which I got fixed at the dealership. Unfortunately, that didn't fix the most noticeable and annoying problem. Whenever I would be driving at high speeds (>=60mph), my car would start shaking so bad, that it would feel as if the entire vehicle was going to fall apart! My mechanic said that it was either the front tires, or one of the rims. Thank goodness it wasn't the latter, as that would have set me back way too much! As it turned out, my front tires were pretty much done for! So, I've got two new tires, and no more shaking, save for the self-induced shaking that will occur when Sum 41 is blaring on the speakers.
During my waiting time for my tires to be put on, I walked over to Panera with my laptop in tow. Of course, I would run into people I know! As I'm waiting in line, I see a couple fellow members of the community band: the clarinetist I sit beside, and her husband, the drummer. They immediately claim that I'm stalking them, of course, and we immersed ourselves in conversation while I waited for my food to be ready. While I was at Panera, by the way, I got a few things done on the website that I hope y'all will enjoy!
After I got home, put in an air conditioner and cut the grass, it was off to the Wheeling Wildcats indoor football game. I had my four season tickets in hand, but I ended up going by myself, as I couldn't find anybody to go with me. To be honest, I don't blame anybody for not going with me, as anymore, I'm finding it quite the chore to attend the games myself, since the team is so terrible. The lone entertaining moment of the first half was when the other team's kicker hit a field goal to end the half, and then proceeded to jump upon and straddle the wall of the stat box (right next to where I sit), shouting out some whoos, and throwing his arms in the air like he just won the Super Bowl! (We were down about 20 points at that point.) Some of the other fans close by were booing and shouting at the kicker, but me? I was laughing, because I know about who the kicker was, as well as some of his past antics, including some IM conversations him and I have had in the past! I found the whole thing with his in-game actions hilarious, and for most of the game, thos antics were the lone things to keep me attentive. The third quarter and part of the fourth, the Wildcats actually played pretty well, but then proceeded to repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot down the stretch, including two times where the other team was going for it on 4th and 4, only to have a couple of Wildcats players jump offsides, giving the other team the automatic first down. In the end, the Wildcats lost by 12. I never thought I would think this about the local indoor team, but I am giving serious thought to NOT renewing my season tickets next year, if there even is a team next year. Since this new team came in to replace the Greyhounds, not only has the team been horrible, but the overall entertainment factor of the games has been terrible, and at this point, it's not worth the money I shelled out for season tickets.
But for now, I'm sitting here at Huddle House, relaxing after a very long and abnormally busy Saturday, sipping the coffee that Devann graciously refills for me, while she asks about what in the world I'm writing! Tomorrow won't be nearly as busy, but I do have a good bit going on that will most likely make the day go by fast. At least this time, I won't have to worry about where the weekend went and fret about work the next day. Instead, I can put off the fretting for one extra day, and concentrate on what mass amounts of nothing I can accomplish for my weekend's extra day.
