Like last year, here's the results from my yearly budget.
I'm gonna include a bit of stuff from my savings as well, because that's marginally more interesting now than it was last year.

Again, spoilering it for those of you who don't want to look at my financial data, even though I don't consider it sensitive info:

So plans/futurecasting for this year:

1) I need to get a new phone and my own cell plan. Gonna keep with Verizon Wireless so I don't have to worry about texting to most of my peeps.

2) Still need a different job. Hoping I'll be able to find one closer to Wheeling (somewhere between Washington PA, Parkersburg, and Zanesville/Cambridge would be nice).

3) Job-hunting and working out (cardio) are the two things I need to do to keep from dying. Just have to juggle them around GMing ninjas and my roommates wanting to hang out... Getting my own place is another huge reason for a different job :/

Still going webpage work on the side as well, or trying to. I've got POV-Ray working on this computer now, which took too long to set up. Didn't help that I lost the scene files and fonts for Jason's website; I may have to remake all the link images there. At least I've got the heavy lifting done on recreating the scene files, just have to set up the 'jumbled' rotations before it's completely redone.

They wanted to play Munchkin today though, so I'm not doing any of that work tonight. Just ninja prep and trying to figure out how to look for a job -_-

Anyone know of any jobs paying $12/hr or more that I might be qualified for?

  1) What is up with this Naruto filler arc? It's movie quality, for crying out loud! So it's not sucky filler, it's just... completely out of chronology, has things that are never gonna show up later, and WTF? 4 episodes and counting, with probably another 4 to go--or at least 2 more.

2) My car is in the shop. Don't know if I'll be able to get it before work tomorrow or if I'll have to get it Sunday. Gas tank was leaking, so getting that fixed.
Getting a tuneup over Christmas from my brother-in-law, or at
least that's the plan. He's got he same year/make/model as I do so he should be able to get it done pretty efficiently :)
Still need power booster fixed for my brakes, don't know when that'll happen.

3) Speaking of Sunday, I also need to get a haircut, do laundry, do Christmas shopping, and also watch the Hobbit w/ my roommates.

4) Re: Christmas shopping: I almost have a list ready. At least I know who I want to get stuff for, though I'll probably have to pare it down a little, or just find some really cheap stuff for some of the people.

5) Re: cars and roomies--Jason lost his job at the beginning of the month, so he's been chauffeuring me to work while my is in the shop. However, he found a similar job (w/ significant pay drop) already and starts on Monday... which is why I likely won't get my brakes fixed for a while. The parts for that appear to take several days to come in, and I don't have several days to wait.

6) My game is progressing; I fixed a couple big logic errors, but still have to work on single-use items and any sort of end-game for the player as well as "retiring" adventurer groups when they run out of resources or when they "graduate" the current max-difficulty-thingyness. In the meantime, it's open for people to look at and break or otherwise tell me what sucks ;)

7) Ninjas are also moving along... slowly. Missed the last session, hoping to make it up (albeit one player short) this Tues, just so we can get past the current mission by the end of the year and start next year w/ a new mission and new players. Still have to find out if Jason's schedule will let him be free Tues evenings, as well as whether Tom would be free frequently enough to try joining.

5b) Jason's also got a magician gig this Saturday (today? tomorrow?) and is hoping to get some leads from that as well. He's hoping to be able to do that full-time, and just needs 10 to 20 shows a month to pull it off. We'll see how that goes, but he is pushing me to do more work on his website as well. Bye-bye, free time, it was nice knowing you... Oh, wait, ninjas stole that already. Nevermind.

8) So with all that going on... It's the holidays! Quit messing up my schedule! I don't have time for holidays! (grr)
But I was able to get Christmas Eve off, which gives me my first three-day-weekend in a *long* time. So I'll get to spend some real time w/ people back home. Won't that be nice ^_^

9) Not-so-nice was a couple days ago at work they played "A Christmas Story" in the call center (not in the break room). With no sound, which was distracting. Twice in a row.
And the day after that they played "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and then "James and the Giant Peach". Again with no sound, which was not cool because I've never gotten to see either of those, and I would like to.
But I can't pay attention to the images moving around in my periferal vision because I have to pay attention to the people trying to talk in my ear! Argh!!
(With that in mind, I wonder how many schizophrenics do a well with a call-center job? That's a statistic I'm curious about, now.)

10) And also, Black Ops 2. Tom gave me a two-week trial XBox Live thing so I could play it online with him. I think I've only had zombie dreams once or twice from it, now.

11) And in order to fulfil my goal of falling asleep by 2am tonight, I need to stop chatting here. Good night, all!

So I had an ice cream sandwich today for dinner. Didn't want just ice cream, and I always like bread, so thought I'd see what it was like.

It was mostly a waste, but the coldness made it interesting enough to finish.

Also, Tom suggested (as I was making it) that I add something to make it taste more, since he figured the bread would just make it bland. We didn't have any sweet stuff on hand (honey?) and the only other thing he could think of was garlic.

So I tried added powdered garlic to one edge.

That tasted like cold garlic bread, as in frozen but soft garlic bread.

Not bad, but a waste of good ice cream! Will have to use vanilla if I ever try that again. And will also have to make sure I have honey available.

  [gotta keep on pushing]

OK, now that I seem to be done playing Borderlands 2 (and am trying to minimize Halo4), here's a way overdue update. It's late so I'll try to keep things short for now.

1) The Briar Village finally has a Ninja Wiki. Right now it's all "series 2" stuff (currnet campaign w/ TRB, Brad, Tim Oakden, Jason Williams, and trying to add 2 more players somehow), and is located at Obsidian Portal

2) Finally completed the game-logic cycle for my webgame. That is, you can submit your actinos for the day, they get processed, and then it gives you the next day's info... Lather, rinse, repeat.
The economics are completely screwy in it right now in that there are no money sinks (rent/lodging/wages) and no way to "lose"... for the shopkeeper or for the adventurers. Conveniently, there is also no way to win. You can just keep clicking "next day" and it gets very borign very quickly.
And there's a couple major-ish bugs that need ironed out, but this is almost ready for alpha-testing.

3) Um... I forget. What was #3? I finally got some more comics the other day... getting an oil change tomorrow, plus more fixes if we have time...

But maybe that's mostly it: ninjas and webgame (that I should have had done long ago, just haven't sat down to work on it).

Tomorrow is Election Day! Who will you be voting for? Are you in the camp that doesn't want to touch sandpaper, or are you with the one who likes "The Wiz"? ^_^
