Hello everybody! Here I am, sitting at Steak n Shake, and I surprisingly have Wi-Fi access! Apparently, one of the hotel's signals is strong enough to reach here, so I can actually do some real work here instead of just tapping away at my cell phone's tiny keyboard! But then again, I did only bring my Macbook, so I don't think real work is possible! ^_^ Just kidding. I can actually work on the comic, but that never requires internet access. But at least I know of a new place I can come to if I wanted to get out of the house and work on the website! And all of my development software is Windows based. So, no offense, Mac!
Well, speaking of website work, the "big" change is coming along. I have been working on it when I've had the time, and so far, it's coming along decently. There is still a lot of work to do on it, but I'm hoping it will be a welcome change that will help drive more traffic here!
Back to life stuff. I'm on day three of a four day weekend! I had saved up a ton of vacation days to take at the end of the year; eight, to be exact! But a couple weeks ago, I found out that because of this system implementation we're doing at work, my company will need me at work the final week of the year. That kind of sucks, because I always look forward to the huge break to close out the year. But they want me to make sure I use my vacation time, because if I don't use it, it will not roll over into the new year. So, since Veteran's Day was a company holiday, I decided to also take Friday off so I could have a nice long weekend. In usual fashion, it's gone by too fast, but at least I've gotten some time off! Now, I only have seven more days to use! I'm going to see if I can get the entire week of Thanksgiving off. That will only require three vacation days, so hopefully, I'll be able to put in a work week next week, then have a week off!
I really did need the extra time off, though, because I've been getting extremely stressed lately, and I needed some time to just relax. I don't know if I got any giant spells of just relaxing this weekend, as I've had plenty to keep me occupied, but every little bit helps. I know I will be extremely happy once this implementation is done, so I can get back to doing the stuff I was hired to do. Work has been a big part of my stress, but I've also been anxious about things in my personal life. I thought I had a golden opportunity not too long ago, but I'm beginning to think that fell through for various reasons. I'm not going to give up, so hopefully I'll get some resolution out of all of this, at least.
Well, I'm going to get off here now. I'm hoping to have the big one ready sometime next week, so stay tuned for all of that!
