MOOD: sore «

Greetings, my long lost friends! Sorry I've been away from here for so long... I don't know if I just haven't had anything new to write about in a while, or if I just haven't felt like writing anything... I'm leaning towards a combination of the two, though I'm not sure of the percentages... probably not an even 50-50 split. (Cpt. Redundancy strikes again!)

Well, onto good news. After falling off the wagon a bit, I'm back into the swing of my weight loss. I went through a bit of a rough patch early this month. With so many Super Bowl party leftovers that weren't necessarily good for me, I ended up giving into the temptations of overeating and junk food. But now, that food is gone, so I don't have to worry about that anymore! ^_^ But with eating healthier again, I've also taken up a lot more exercise, including a heavy regiment of walking. I've been hitting the indoor track hard these past two days, and so far, I've logged nine miles! My legs are a bit sore, but it feels good to be back in the swing of things, and I think I've about lost the weight I've gained back during my binge.

Oh yeah... The Super Bowl party... I was actually kind of disappointed in the turnout. A lot of people didn't show up, including some who said they would be there. Plus, since the Steelers were losing most of the game, and a majority of the hardcore football fans there were Steelers fans, the mood of the party seemed really subdued. At least I got to enjoy a ton of pastrami, the most sensual of the salted, cured meats! That, and the roast beef with horseradish sauce... Oishii! Anyway, I'm really hoping the next time I have a Super Bowl party, it will turn out a lot better.

I'm trying to think what else has been going on... nothing much, really! We did have a wicked snowstorm last night. The awesome thing about it was the fact that thunder and lightning accompanied the storm, and I've never seen that happen before! A lot of people I talked to were also excited about the snow+lightning combo going on. And it wasn't just a wee bit of lightning, either... this stuff lit up the entire sky!

Ugh... well, I think I'm going to get to bed now, so I can try to get up nice and early. I have my weigh-in for my company's weight-loss contest, and I want to make sure I get a nice amount of sleep to metabolize some more fat! Catch y'all later!

Doesn't feel like much to report, but since I keep skipping Fridays I figure I should say SOMETHING...

1) I'm also intending to send out a quick followup massmail to let everyone know that I've at least got a job, even if I don't FEEL stable yet. Included there will be a link to this blog; I assume TGB won't mind the extra traffic that may generate :)

2) Thought I got enough sleep over the weekend, but was rather tired today at work.

3) Speaking of work, today was CROWDED. We also had 10+ phones-or-computers down, so I just stuck in a completely different section.

4) Calls started out quick at the beginning but I was getting actual troubleshooting drek by my first break, and things didn't really get any faster later on. Bleh. HDMI cables are just a pain, since they're buggy with our cable boxes.

5) In other news, I did re-figure out how to find the volume of a lathe (that is, a curve rotated around the y or x axis) ! That was the calculus problem(s) that Jessica was stuck on... and we were both really tired Sat night, so I ended up taking the problem home and working it out on Sunday. I dunno how much help I was for her, but she has classes in Cinci during the week so I rather doubt I'll find anything out until after her test on Thurs--and by that point, it won't matter too much anyway.

5b) DID find out that she was referred to me fro by my cousin, so that's a bit less creepy now, haha.

6) I'm NOT going on third shift... though with the anticipated workload, maybe I should have >_> I just don't want to go through the horrible lack-of-socialization I had during training. :/ Work is still draining, but at least my current schedule lets me hang out with other people when those people are awake ^_^ If I was third shift, I wouldn't get to see Jason at all, and visiting people back home would also be nigh-impossible. If anything, I think I'd prefer my schedule to be one hour earlier... so I'm fine (so I'm FINE!) and I don't really see a need to push for a schedule change. All I really need to PUSH for is making myself look for a different job >_<

7) Borrowing the Book of Eli, so I hope to get that watched before long.

8) Caught up with the Bleach anime--it just finished the fight with Aizen-sama, looks like--and now I gotta get back with Naruto as well. I liked a few bits of the Aizen endstory... but mostly I was EXCEPTIONALLY angry with Aizen for going off the bad end of "confident, cocky, lazy, dead" ;_; Also, there were two filler episodes that I never want to see again. Why do they keep putting those in!? -sighs-

9) Snow on top of ice on the drive home tonight, but the ice was crunchy and I had no problems driving. Everyone else was going slow so I didn't get home till 11, but I'm back safe and that's the important part.

Ok, tried to post this, and got kicked off for some reason...anyway...
I lost my voice about 2 weeks ago. More accurately, I got sick about 2 weeks ago, and my voice was scratchy. Then about a week ago it went completely out. Now I feel fine. I just can't make any noise. However, all attempts are being made to reduce swelling so I can heal, so visiting people who will make me want to talk is probably not a good idea, and visiting people with cats is just not happening.
I promise to let people know when I can come out to play. And It better be before the 3rd, because I'm going to go to see Celldweller in Columbus. WooHoo! Many thanks to Lucy for being awesome an setting that up!
In the mean time, I have seen just about every Jackie Chan movie ever made, and am almost done with "The Dragon Bone Chair"
Here's hoping I can go see people again soon.

OK, so yesterday my cousin came over and we disconnected the two read brake lines which were leaking... Now the van is running around quite fine with just front brakes. I don't have to worry about rush hour traffic, so everything's cool AND I have a vehicle again.

1) I had a dream last night that I was fired mid-day for no reason that anyone could figure out >_< First time I think I've had a work-related dream for this job >_> I was relieved, though worrying a little about where I was gonna get another job at.. and then I woke up and had to go to work. Boo v.v

2) My call time for Saturday was in the 14s!! O.o I've finally been getting misdirect/billing calls. Today was similar. It's great for my call time, less good for my stress level. I just don't like short calls for some reason. Mebbe it's the "waiting for the next call" part, or the "I HAVEN'T HAD ANY TIME TO CODE THIS CALL AND IT'S DONE ALREADY??" part.

3) Not much else to say... I made chili and I need to put fewer peppers (and a bit of salt) in the next batch.

4) One more day of work then a day off. Gonna have to get some more structure to my off-hours pretty soon! I've been here a couple months now and haven't really been keeping forward momentum. That's not cool.

5) Cutting back on my caffeine intake some more as well; I mean, the job seems to have enough stress to keep me safely awake, so I really don't need the stims or the appetite suppressant--it's not .like I'm being hungry, and if I'm just sitting around I don't really need extra calories either.

Greetings, hopeless romantics, and welcome to another edition of WTF Video of the Week! Sorry for being away for so long, but I hope this will make up for it. Unfortunately, this is a repost, but considering what dreaded day today is, I found it appropriate. Hope you will enjoy, whether you've seen this one or not. It definitely sheds a new light on this WTF'n holiday! Enjoy!
