Greetings! Saying my most overused line, it's been a while since I've done a real post on here (drink), but I figured I'd check in and tell everybody some stuff that's been going on with me.

The main reason I haven't been on here is probably because I've been hitting the gym... a lot! I'm probably up to about four or five times a week going there now. In my quest for my weight loss goal, I've taken up drastic measures, if you would like to call them that! My regiment consists mostly of walking LONG distances, and doing speed-burst training, which one of my coworkers (who is a fitness nut and fellow TGBob.com member) suggested. They consist of getting on the exercise bike for about a half-hour, spend one minute doing a casual ride, then the next minute going all out at top speed, really pushing yourself. Then, wet hair, lather, rinse, and repeat! This is supposed to help keep your body on edge, where it won't get into a comfort zone with your workout... meaning that if you do the same exercise (a.k.a. walking) constantly at the same intensity, your body will get used to the task, and will no longer burn the fat when you're doing that exercise. So, the speed bursts are a way of shocking the system. Anywho, I've been really trying to commit myself to this whole health kick I'm on. Although I'm not losing as much weight as I would like to, I am noticing some changes... my leg muscles are getting a lot more defined, and my gut is shrinking. I've always had big leg muscles, but I can definitely tell that they're growing, and as they say, muscle weighs more than fat! So that's probably the reason why my weight loss is not as fast as I would like it to be.

I did take a bit of a break from all the working out this past weekend, though, and I took some time to get caught up on a few household chores, and my never-ending quest to search for new anime/manga. Well, my search kind of turned up fruitless, except for one gem, which I finished relatively quickly. Here's a list of stuff I found, and some general impressions on each...

1) Fractale - I watched two minutes... Turned it off after that.

2) Infinite Stratos - Sweet! Mecha/Armour-suit anime! Wait, nevermind... it turns into a harem anime...

3) Level E - Ok, so I didn't actually watch this one... But I did watch the trailer, and the animation seemed kinda crappy, and one guy looked way too pretty, so I turned away.

4) Banquet Box (manga) - Tries to be a suspense-thriller... It's still fairly early in the releases, though, so I may try to keep an eye on it... This one could really go either way.

5) Fireball - ROCK!!! I discovered this anime by looking at ANN's "Most Underrated" list, and this one was the most underrated among TV shows. I'm hard-pressed to actually call it a TV show, because each of the 13 episodes are under two minutes in length... so, I finished the entire series in about a half-hour! ^_^ It is very humourous, and utilizes a good bit of Japanese word-play puns, so we English speaking people may not find some of the jokes that funny, until they are explained in some of the closing credit blurbs. Despite the culture clash and short run time, I really enjoyed this one, and it's definitely a must see. And you only lose a half hour, so even if you watch the entire series and end up disappointed, you haven't waisted all that much time! The animation is CG and features a giant spider-like intellectual robot, and a sassy female robot who has a penchant for getting names wrong and Capoeira (or is it Karate?). Pretty easy to find on Youtube... Heck, I may just post them all here in a forum thread! Yeah, I think I'm going to do that! ^_^

Well, last thing to mention... I bought a new CD this past weekend... It's from the band, Shinedown, and the album is the deluxe edition of The Sound of Madness. 20 tracks and bonus DVD of hard rock, and possibly, one of the best albums I've ever bought. Favourite songs are probably Diamond Eyes, Breaking Inside, and What a Shame. Just sheer awesomeness, and I recommend checking out this band if you haven't heard anything by them.

  1) Got my CD player set up in my car. Also brought some CDs home with me from my last visit, so I have a little soemthing to listen to aside from just the radio anymore.

2) Work is definitely getting better, though I had a couple "just barely late" days this past week and have FINALLY had someone mention it to me. Yay. Having the rules only vaguely enforced annoys me to no end because then I dont't know what's expected and so I don't have any guidelines to follow. But I digress.

3) OTOH, work is still work in a field I do not enjoy... but then again, my parents must have taught me SOMETHING about professionalism and respect for others, because there are only a very few times when callers are mad enough to really yell at me.

4) Dodged another escalation today--Cx called in, first thing out of his mouth was "I want escalated" because the tech was supposed ot show up earlier, and the Cx sees our van driving around the neighborhood, and it's hours late now. So while I was trying to figure out whether I could call the dispatch office escalation line for him, the van finally stopped at his place. Whee.

5) Put some oil in my van yesterday... I think it still needs another quart, but I REALLY need to know how much it's leaking :( Gonna get the oil changed on Weds after I ge tpaid and when the place I'm gonna go to is actually open >_<

6) Why is falling asleep difficult? Or maybe I should ask why the room I'm in stays cold all the time, haha. Stupid basements >_<
