Ah, another evening, another couple random new anime to check out... But I'll get into that later. This is turning out to be a pretty busy week for me. Today's evening activity was band practice... Tomorrow is church services; specifically, singing practice... Thursday is my Mom's birthday, so party at Mom's house! (raising the roof) Now, it also looks like I'm going to be hanging out with an old work buddy on Friday! So needless to say (but watch me say it anyway), I've filled up my schedule to the point where I don't have too much free time to do fun stuff, like working out.

I guess that's why I went a little extra crazy with yesterday's workout. I decided to go for broke on my walking distance, and ended up putting in twelve miles! Plus, to top things off, I went all-out on my last mile, putting in my fastest mile time of the dozen. Yeah, today my legs are sore and my feet are all blistered and hurting, but I feel pretty good otherwise! I was talking to one of my work buddies afterwards, and when I told him the mileage I had just put in, he suggested that I think about entering the Ogden Half Marathon, as they also have a walking division. That's only one more mile than what I had just put in, so I'm putting some serious thought into whether I should do it or not. I could probably get to the thirteen miles with no problem, but one of the biggest issues I would have with the race would be the changes in elevation. Since I started this walking regiment, it has been done solely on level track surfaces, and the Ogden course has some major elevation shifts, including one fairly early on that features a 750+ foot climb! If I were to do this, I would probably need to do some hill training. Other concern I have is my pacing. Right now, my mile pace on level ground averages around the 16:30 mark, which would put me near the back of the pack. I would at least want to be competitive, since I am an extremely competitive person, so I would definitely want to try to improve my pace before throwing my hat in the ring. We'll see how that all pans out, though. I'll keep everybody updated!

Ok, in other news, I've hunted down a couple of other new anime, just to see if there was anything worth watching. Short answer... meh.

1) Beezelbub - I actually had high hopes for this one, as it is about a delinquent going to a high school for delinquents (Cromartie anybody?). But, the character which the anime is centered around, the reason for the series to be, is one of the most annoying characters ever IMHO. It's a demonic baby who spends all of his time nude (so you see lots of baby junk) and makes really annoying noises and electrocutes people. Has a couple interesting characters that I would probably love in any other series, but I just cannot get past that annoying naked baby!

2) Danbōru Senki - That's right... "Danball"... let that sink in for a while. Brain hurt yet? Ok... well... This series looks like it wants to be the next "hook kids so they'll buy our merchandise" series. (Pokemon, Bakugan, Yu-Gi-Oh) It features miniature robots which do battle against each other, while being remote-controlled by prepubescent adolescents using devices that look like cell phones. And apparently, the tournaments draw tens of thousands of fans in giant arenas, and every aspect of everyone's life revolves around these mine robots! Oh, and the series has their own "Team Rocket" too! They dress in trench coats, mob hats, and wear clown paint on their faces. When the main character, Ban (which reminds me of deodorant), comes in possession of a prototype mini-robot, Pseudo Team Rocket springs into action to recover said prototype. So yeah, the < 12 year old kid is all alone in his house, and the adult members of PTR are outside, and could easily go in the house, beat the crap out of the boy, and steal the prototype back. But NO... what do they do? They send in their own mini robots to do battle with the overpowered prototype, and of course, deodorant boy with zero experience pwns all three members of PTR. And with that crushing defeat, PTR retreats. Ugh!!! These kiddie anime series really need smarter villains! What would Aizen have done in that situation? Either slay you mercilessly, or hypnotize you to make you think you were still in possession of said prototype, while he swipes it right out from under your nose! No... come to think of it, he would probably just let you keep the robot, then sit back in front of his 267 inch widescreen TV and watch you make a complete and utter trainwreck of yourself, because that is what this show is destined to be in my eyes! (pant... pant... pant...)

Ok, time to wrap this up... One final note... This past Friday, I saw the movie Sucker Punch. If you ever want to see this movie, don't go in expecting to see a serious movie. If you take this movie seriously, you will probably be disappointed. This is one of those movies that is meant to be laughed at, and if you go in with that attitude, you should have a pretty fun time! I know I enjoyed the experience! ^_^ If anybody wants a more specific and longer review of the movie, let me know, and I'll try to write one up. Well, catch y'all later! Jaattebayo!

Greetings, my family band, and welcome to another edition of WTF Video of the Week! For this week's entry, as mentioned in my intro, we are diving into the deep, dark world of family bands. I've seen and heard some weird and annoying ones in my time, but this one really wets the fabric (WTF)... Yes, there is so much WTF potential in this one... the horrible, redundant lyrics, the awkward choreography, and... wait... is that one guy dressed up as God??? WTF??? Enjoy!
