[crossposted at TGB's request, and edited for coherence]

I seem to be in love with [lying to people's faces by telling them the complete truth]. ^_^

Just... not enough of the truth. Give them most of the data and let them draw their own conclusions. Leave out the parts that don't seem relevant/important, but end up changing the entire conclusion.

Like... "2 + 2 = 4". No other way to look at that, is there?
Well, if I'm using base 3.... 2 + 2 = 11
even though "11" in base 3 is the same value as "4" in base (5 or higher)....
That's exactly what I'm talking about. It's exactly the same value... but completely different implementation.

Or to try another example... tell someone all the reasons why you hate them, and show that you're capable of some pretty horrific deeds... and then convince someone else to break that person. You get what you want, and you keep your hands clean, and the person stays paranoid of /you/ instead of watching out for that other guy.
/That's/ ninja.

First, thank you to everybody who hit me up on MySpace when you saw my status update regarding wiping out. It was funny how shortly after I posted that, the messages started coming in! Thank you to all who asked if I was okay and showed their concern.

Now for the story! Yesterday was the first day of community band practice, and I and my friend Paul went down to join and play. After our practice was over, the two of us were walking home. (He lives in the house across the alley from mine.) Although we knew that it was bitter cold and snowy out, we only lived a couple blocks away from the school where the practice was being held, so that's we were walked instead of driving. So continuing on, during our walk home, we were talking about the practice and some other topics, and as we rounded the corner of the sidewalk, I suddenly felt both my feet fly out from under me. That's right, I stepped on a sheet of ice, and I paid the price. I flipped back, my feet sprawling out in front of me, and my back landing squarely on the sidewalk. My head whipped down from the force of the fall and slammed against the cold concrete.

Paul stood there in shock, and after exclaiming a couple choice words, asked "Dude, are you okay?" As I'm staring up at the dark sky, snow falling in my face, I reply "I think so!" He searched for my glasses first, which had flown off my face as I fell, and once he found those, proceeded to help me off the ground.

As for the aftermath of the fall, today I am extremely sore. It was funny, because when I fell, I didn't feel any pain, even though my head slammed against concrete, and all I experienced last night in regards to discomfort was a headache because of... well... slamming my head against concrete! But today, my whole body is acheing, and I'm having trouble moving around. I also took a chunk out of my right elbow, but no head injury at all! No cuts, no bumps, nothing! The other thing affected by the fall was the metal logo on the side of my clarinet case came flying off after the impact. Yes, I did recover the logo, because that was one of the things Paul noticed as I was falling. He told me afterwards was that one of the first things he thought as I fell was "Oh no, the Bundy!"

Welcome, dinner guests, to this week's edition of WTF Video of the Week!

As you know, last week's vid had to do with all of the benefits of tea. Continuing with our sophisticated series of WTF-ness, this week, we will be discussing table manners. And who better to teach table manners than star of the Food Channel, Rachael Ray! Well, unfortunately, we could not get Rachael Ray, so we had to settle for a common house cat. Enjoy!

Some random thoughts about this past weekend and the upcoming few days.

1) When carrying an injured girl to safety, as she wraps her arms around your neck, the last thing I would expect is to become paralyzed and ditched on the nearest roadside curb... Well, fool me once...

2) I got my Wheeling Wildcats football tickets reserved today! Plus, they were half the price of the old Greyhounds tickets for my two same seats! So naturally, I bought two additional seats!

3) I've got to get my clarinet dusted and prepped tonight, because tomorrow starts the new band!

4) I am planning designs for my office/workshop downstairs. Three words: black light paint.

5) I never thought it would be so hard to get a hold of somebody over the phone! Ugh!

6) Tonight is going to be busy for me, as I'm going on a cleaning tear!

7) I finally got a Nintendo DS! It's blue!

8) I have so much planned for tomorrow, I don't know how I'm going to get it all in!

9) To help me with my weight loss plan, I'm thinking of buying boxed dinners, lunches, and breakfasts in bulk.

10) I had plans yesterday to take my Christmas tree down. Why is it still up?

11) Saturday, I was painting on a ladder that had no support bar on its left side. I like to live dangerously!

12) I thought of an awesome t-shirt: picture of Usui Kenta, with words underneath reading "Bite Me!"

RAMBLINGS OF A TIRED ZOMBIE...

Do you realize that it's been almost a month since I've posted a real, meaningful blog on this site? I really need to be in the habit of updating this site more frequently with stuff other than videos and random comments, especially since the holidays are over, and that has been the premise of a lot of my short comment posts. Well, now that I think about it, today IS Ashura, so... um... Awesome Ashura everybody???

Right now, I am dead tired. Today was a pretty long day at work, and the day itself had to come a bit earlier than normal because I had to take my car back into the shop. Now I know what you're thinking. It's nothing new. The last time I had the car in the shop, they had to order some parts to make this one repair, and those parts just came in this week. Of course, this meant having to get up extra early so I could drop my car off and then hitch a ride to my office. After I picked up my car after work, I went to the gym where I proceeded to completely exhaust myself. By the time all of that let up, I was a walking zombie. I couldn't really do much of anything by the time I got home, and why, for the life of me, am I still awake? I haven't a clue. Maybe it was the quick nap bursts I got while lying on my couch during rerun episodes of House.

Because of the zombification of myself, though, I missed out on doing something I was nervous about, and both dreading and anxiously awaiting for tonight. I won't go into details, since I will just probably ramble anyway, but let's just say the other day, I found a healthy dose of courage. That's all you people need to know!

Moving on...

On second thought, I really need to get to bed. I'll just continue on tomorrow. That is, if I don't end up in a multiple hour phone conversation or something...
