What a weekend... First off, sorry I haven't been steady about posting here. It has been a busy couple of weeks, and when I've been home, I've just felt like relaxing. Plus, I haven't really had anything interesting to write about. It's just been the typical boring life.
However, this weekend, I took in a Renaissance Festival with Strike and Erin. I wasn't sure what to expect, as I had never been to one before. But I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had there. Of course, it didn't hurt that at one of the first shows we attended, I got called out of the audience to make a complete fool out of myself. But, due to some quick thinking, I was able to cause the performers to lose their composure laughing. In case you're wondering, yes, we did get video of this, as well as other happenings at the festival, that I'm going to post as I get them cleaned and uploaded over the next couple of days.
One of my favourite acts was an unannounced combo act that happened at the end of the festival. A juggling act, who did some tricks with fire batons, and a fire master joined together for an improvised act of trying out newer tricks, and coming up with new tricks on the spot, all involving fire. It was absolutely spectacular! Toward the beginning of their show, the female fire juggler, Kelsey, caught her leg on fire, and she had to be put out using the wet towels that they had prepped, since there were no fire extinguishers in sight. After she was put out, they just kept going as if nothing had happened, proceeding to do stunts with an even higher degree of danger! And there we were, right in the front row, so if something were to go terribly wrong, we'd be the first audience members to go up in smoke. But their act was really cool, and we got our pictures taken with them afterwards. The one from my cellphone turned out kind of blurry, so I'm waiting for Erin to email me one that was on her phone. Once I get it, I'll post it here.
We plan on going back in two weeks, so I'm hoping to get even more footage and pictures to share. In the meantime, stay tuned for the media I'll be uploading over the next couple of days!
