Well, yesterday was the big day... BCS bowl bids were announced. On Saturday, the college football world was turned upside-down again, as both the #1 and #2 teams lost! (Missouri and WVU) The bigger shock was Pitt, who was I think 4-7, beating WVU. I didn't see that one coming. But, as you may have seen in one of the previous post's comments, I was hoping for both Mizzou and WVU to win. Both of them needed to win in order to keep Ohio State out of the championship. I HATE OSU! I didn't want to see them in the championship at all! But both teams ended up flopping, so that threw that wish out the window! The one I was most upset about, though, was Mizzou losing, because their loss virtually guaranteed my team, Kansas, getting shut out of a BCS bowl bid. Only two teams from any given conference are allowed to be in the BCS, so I was hoping Mizzou beat Oklahoma. That would have given Oklahoma three losses, and would have guaranteed KU of getting a BCS bid. But, with Oklahoma winning, with Mizzou having beat KU, and Oklahoma beating Mizzou, there would be no room in the BCS for KU, as both Mizzou and Oklahoma would get in. Or so I thought... As I was watching the BCS selection show last night, I was more or less just curious as to which team was going to go where. Of course, they announced Oklahoma going to the Fiesta bowl, since that's normally where the Big 12 champion goes. I was then watching to see where Mizzou would end up. So they brought up the Orange bowl selections, and they announced that the first team for the Orange Bowl was... Kansas? Boy, did I sit up quickly on that one! Even with the nightmare scenario that had come to pass, KU ended up getting a BCS bid! And, of course, that meant Missouri will be playing in the Cotton Bowl, which is where I thought KU would be playing with Mizzou's loss to Oklahoma. Now, as a KU fan, do I think that decision is fair? Yes and No. I don't think KU should have gotten the nod over Missouri, first of all. I'll be a man and admit it, Mizzou deserved to get in over KU. They beat KU on the field, and their only two losses were both to Oklahoma. But at the same time, I think Kansas is deserving of a BCS bowl bid. They finished their season 11-1, losing to Mizzou by 8. In fact, they had a chance to come back and beat Mizzou at the end, so even though they got down early, they showed how they could compete at the end. So, even though OSU gets their national championship bid by backing in, Kansas still got their BCS bid. So I can be happy, as can the OSU fans.... that is, until OSU gets waxed by LSU! -- TG |

Hey all. I know I had promised to be putting up the Xmas tree and decorations this weekend. If any of you were actually tuning in to watch me do this on webcam, you may have noticed that the webcam was not up. Don't worry, you didn't miss anything. Sunday, I was sick in bed all day. I've been battling a cold pretty much all of last week, and Sunday was the absolute worst day of it. Low temperature, dizzyness, headaches, clogged nose and throat, and of course, the coughing. I felt like crap. I'm doing better today, but I woke up this morning with cold chills, and just about every muscle and bone in my body aching. I don't know if I twisted a bunch of stuff around last night or what, because I was tossing and turning a good bit. Oh well, I think the worst is over. I will try to do the Xmas thing sometime this week, but I'm not sure yet. I'm thinking about doing it Wednesday evening, but that will coincide with another holiday: Day of the Ninja! I'll post a link about that later, but if I do the Xmas stuff on Wednesday, you can be sure that I'll be doing it while decked-out in ninja gear! Well, gotta get finished getting ready for work. I figured I'd pop out a quick post before I went to bed. I have felt like utter crap the past couple of days, and now, I've got the bodily harm to go along with the crap-feeling! Ever since I got home from NC, I've come down with some sort of sickness. Apparently, it's not something that can be cured by prescribing more cowbell! I have an itchy throat, and I've just felt really tired and weak. I think I need to get some more sleep, but here I am, getting ready to watch the clock turn over to another day. At least I'll be in bed before midnight! Plus, add on to that what happened today. I was playing some racquetball, and after losing the first match, I was tied up with my opponent at five a piece, when I went to jump for a return, and my right leg got this pain in it. I think I either pulled a ligament or hyperextended it somehow. Irregardless of what I did, I had to sit down for a few minutes, and try stretching it out so I could at least walk on it. After getting it back in somewhat working condition, I continued on with the game. And wouldn't you know it? This gimp won! I didn't have much speed on me, but I was hitting precision shots like they were going out of style! Well, tonight, I can barely walk, and when I do walk, I look like a little old man trying to make his way around with a hunchback and no walker. It's a sight to behold! Hopefully, I'm feeling better tomorrow, or at least am able to get around! Before I wrap up here, I'd like to give a quick update on some site-related stuff. Tomorrow, I will be posting the end of month WTF video of the month poll. I haven't forgotten about it! Also, Sunday evening, I will be putting up my Christmas decorations, and I will be broadcasting it on webcam, with an Xmas music soundtrack in the background.
