[Hope has made a way for all the dead hearts to arise] Well, big news first: My sister is getting married this July 4 ("open house" style reception to be held July 22) !!! Still kinda upset and confused that she didn't tell anyone she was serious about this guy, but this really isn't the venue to discuss that stuff. Still, having this guy as a brother is gonna be take some getting used to. Making plans to get to see him at least a couple more times before the wedding Other family 'drama': My parents are trying to get moved out of their house later this summer as well! Looks like everyone's moving this year.... Some random points of catch-up: * Finished Book #13 of the WoABT; very excited to read the final book whenever it's finally released :) Can't believe I started that back in high school (or was it slightly before high school?)... * Storm has not yet jumped out of my bedroom window, but having the large fan in the way is not going ot stop him from trying, it seems. So far he's just knocked some other things over and startled himself away from the window. ^_^ * The only apts I've been able to find online all start slightly upwards of $300 and include utilities. Bah. ** Jason's roommate is planning to move out this summer sometime, though, so that would make moving back in with him easier. Not my first choice, and haven't discussed it with Jason yet, but it is an option I'm considering. ** Also want to see about getting a job doing the sort of thing my sister is doing. It pays more AND it's working with data/things instead of people. That would be a huge relief :) * Finally got the login stuff working on that game I mentioned last time. There's nothing to see once you log in, and I need to put the error messages back in, but that will change once I get more time to work on it! * Was supposed to run some SR3 this weekend, but most of my players decided that one of them had a roof that needed fixing, so they're doing that instead. This is why I don't want to buy a house >_> * Going to see Avengers hopefully this upcoming Weds. I'm glad they're tying their movies together, even if the Avengers really aren't my favorite team or anything. * I had a tick on my leg the other night. No idea where it came from. Found out we don't seem to have rubbing alcohol in this apartment. Fortunately it decided it wasn't attached yet, so I killed it and washed it down the sink. * It's officially shorts weather...I just have to determine whether the dress code at work has tightened up so that I'm actually allowed to wear them...... no one called me on it today, but there was an email sent around saying that shorts are allowed tomorrow (apparently as something special)--I'm just not sure if that's more for the other projects or if my project is holding more to the Official Dress Code than it used to. * PS: my car is working fine for now. I did find out that Advance Auto Parts does not carry the cap for the coolant resivoir tank; mine's been slightly broken so if I can find one somewhere it should get replaced. |

[and everything that you desire] OK, I really haven't posted in here in much too long. About a month, looks like... sorry about that! :< There's important stuff I haven't gotten clearance to talk about on here, hopefully will get to do that before too long; also, I've been sidetracked by my roommates. And just didn't feel like writing, which is always a fail. So here's some catch-up. More car saga: * So about two weeks ago my brother tells me that the front /passenger/ tire is about half-flat. -_- So I fill it up, and a week later it's lost 7 lbs or so pressure. Fill it up one more time, and yeah, it's losing about a lb a day. It's been a month since I got it, so I'm hoping the tire store will be able to fix without charging much >_< This is not the same tire that made me decide to get new ones, so there's no history there or anything. * When I went home for Passover/Easter,, I found out (as I was leaving to come back that night) that my coolant had all leaked out. After some fuss with that (and buying a gallon of coolant that I really didn't want to have to get) it seems like I just hadn't tightened the coolant cap all the way down, and it had been slowly leaking out there over the previous month or so. Well, today the coolant light finally went off. So I'm gonna quit fretting bout that, and get my oil changed & tire looked at. Side projects: I've started (slowly) working on a web-based economics game. Because apparently I like economics games, and hardly anyone makes them--certainly no one makes them "right" ;) Current homepage is http://testbed.x10.mx/ and you can create a login (though logging in doesn't actually do anything) at http://testbed.x10.mx/login.php Next up is figuring out how to store session info so that logging in means something, and then I can create other pages to show specific info after one logs in. (And also redirecting to login page if you try going elsewhere without logging in first.) Hmm, what else? * Storm is still crazy. * I'm almost on book 11 of WoABT. * Oh, and Tim & Lucy are moving out at the end of June, possibly to Cinci, so I'm gonna have to figure out what I'm doing next month sometime. Time is going so fast this year :( |
