I think I've had a severe case of writer's block lately. It used to be restricted to my poetry, but now it seems that even my blogs are subject to my lack of ideas. Lately, I just couldn't find anything to write about. And once I would think about something to write, I would lose interest in writing about that topic, or I would just forget what I wanted to write about.
So, I guess I'll do a quick rundown of what's been going on lately, just to get you all up to speed. First of all, I've been battling a bout of the blues lately. A lot of stuff is going on with my life right now that I'm just plain not happy about. With that, I'm having to make some tough decisions I didn't ever want to have to make, but they need to be made. I've been extremely stressed over current situations, and I've been getting advise from people I'm close to in order to get these resolved. I'm hoping that I will get these resolved soon, so I can get everything that's troubling me out of the way, and get back to my normal happy self!
For those of you who may not know, I recently got a couple of new cats! Even though I was planning on changing at least one of their names, the names that they were given at the shelter I rescued them from have stuck. One is a seven month old male orange tabby DSH named "Red". He is a very affectionate cat, and loves to hug and cuddle with either cushions or people. After I brought him home, though, I discovered that he has some bowel problems, which we're trying to get resolved. I'm hoping this medicine that he's on will help clear him up. The other cat is a five year old male grey and black tabby DSH named "Big Rog". He was all depressed at the shelter, so I felt he needed a good home. He has taken to me extremely well, to the point where he normally follows me around the entire house. It's sometimes sad, because I will have to keep him from going into certain rooms with me, and he'll cry for me from the other side. My mom has described him as looking like Garfield, because he's just a big fat lazy cat with a huge box shaped head. He's also very expressive, as he has black rings around his eyes as well as black lips, so whenever he makes a face, it looks hilarious.
I've been trying to do some work on the site recently, but I just haven't felt up to doing massive amounts of work needed. I've made a bit of progress on the approve/disapprove feature, but it's been very slow progress. With this recent funk I've been in, it's very difficult for me to build up the ambition to get stuff done. Hopefully that will change very soon. I'm hoping to get all the changes I promised up very soon, so thank you for being patient with me.
Ugh… let's see… what else? I'm at Huddle House right now. I've been going to way too many restaurants lately. I think I need to cut back a bit. I did skip my weekly trip to Quaker Steak & Lube this week. It had ended up turning into a more than weekly trip, and since I always requested the same server, I have a feeling it started looking really weird, as if I was a stalker or something (cue Tenshin Mukai). That's definitely not the vibe I want to put off, and also the place is a bit pricey, so I completely skipped out of it this week. Unfortunately, I filled the void with extra trips to Steak n Shake, so I kind of broke even in that regard. I've become a bit of a regular at the Japanese restaurant as well, and now every time I go in, I get into extended conversations with the sushi chefs. Um… I usually don't eat at Huddle House… normally just get coffee. Good thing, too, because eating a lot of their food can make you fat… but I guess I'm already there… ugh.
Oh, I did get a nice tax refund, so my big purchase was a floor mounted punching bag and some boxing related training equipment. I've been going a bit crazy on it, as well as Anomalous… yeah, we've been pretty well kicking the crap out of this thing. Yes, not only are we doing boxing, but also some kicking… nothing like some decent martial arts training! I want to eventually buy some mats that we can drag outside into the back yard, so we can work on grappling and throws, without having to worry about a ceiling.
So, that's enough for now… for having writer's block, I actually got a bit out! I guess once I started writing, it freed the beast! Oh well… I just wish that would work on my poetry! Catch y'all later!
