Once again, I catch myself taking extended time off from posting this craziness, but I guarantee you, this one is worth the wait! For this week's entry, I just happened to stumble upon this one, and it has to be one of the creepiest and most disturbing toy commercials I think I've ever seen. Well, once again, I got a bit lax on posting here. Why does that always happen? I guess I need to quit going through my emo spells. I guess the big news right now in regards to what is going on with me is my knee. I had mentioned having a bum knee in my last post, but I had finally made my way to the doctor, and during his hand examination, he felt something move in my knee. He had thought I had broken a bone, but after getting my xrays back, it turns out nothing was broken. But, I have to now wear this giant knee brace to hopefully help my knee heal, and if the pain hasn't subsided in a couple weeks, I'll have to go back in for additional testing. This knee brace I have to wear is something else. It consists of two hinged metal bars, and velcro straps to hold it in place. Oh, and it also has some foam pads for me to wrap around my legs to protect from the metal jabbing me and velcro burns. The contraption is a pain to put on, and I can never seem to get it on just right. I guess it is still doing its job, but I can't wait until I don't have to wear it anymore. It is a nice conversation point, at least, mostly for jokes at my expense. I think I've heard every Forrest Gump joke imagineable already. And when I walk, the brace makes this clicking sound with almost every step, so I can no longer be stealthy. Because of the lack of stealthiness, I can no longer reply "I'm a ninja" to stupid questions. But I could probably get away with saying "I'm a cyborg ninja" instead. Well, I've gotta go for now. Exhausted and sore, I am finally returning from opening day at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival. I know I had an absolute blast! I did get a lot of video from this trip, and I hope to get even more on the followup trips that we are planning to take. So, stay tuned for the new videos! In the meantime, here are some highlights from opening day. 1) Thank goodness I brought my walking stick with me. Not only did I need it to support myself with my bum knee, but I also got several comments on my staff by random people! 2) My wench remembered me! After the first wench show we went to, I walked up to Izzy and put my money in her basket. When she looked up and saw me, she dropped the basket, leaped into my arms, and called me Bubba! 3) Speaking of wenches, there was a wondering wench who seemed to be everywhere I went. And she accused me of stalking her! 4) It was awesome to renew acquaintances with my favourite acts! Well, I'll write more later. My phone is about to die, so I'll catch y'all later! --TG |
