Ugh, has it been two weeks now? Sorry! Here's a couple things that have been going on-- 1) Jason (my roommate) is hiring me to make him a webstore. He's gonna be doing kid's shows as a magician (and from what I've seen he's pretty good at it) and wants potential customers to be able to see videos of performances and also schedule/pay for such things. So far I've got a banner logo (mostly) and the overall base site design set up. Still have to get access to the webserver so I can do PHP/database stuff, hook in paypal buttons, etc etc etc. Lots and lots of work left, even though I don't have to add any actual content myself ;) And he's supposed to pay me for it as well, so I'm gonna track how much time I spend on it just to see what kind of return I might expect to get (which also gives me some idea of how efficient I am at this kind of thing). 2) Sinus cold this past week, well, since Weds. Had a bit of a fever that day, and took yesterday off work to try to recover. Glad I did; not sure why but I was REALLY tired that evening. So of course I got maybe a 5 minute nap around midnight and then I was up till 7AM this morning >_< 3) Did just finish watching Code Geas (season 2) tonight. I liked the 2nd season much better, though they could never decide whether people were dead or not. Plus the show could have ended at a good stopping point at least once an episode in, like, the last 10 episodes. Crazy stuff, don't really want to see it again anytime soon. It's like a Death Note/Gundam Wing crossover, which reminds me, I really need to see Gundam Wing again sometime. Oh, wait, this is supposed to be a "work blog"! Right, so, work-related stuff: 1) I've officially been hired 90 days as of the end of last month. Whee, I suppose. I still have to wait till the end of this month before my tardy/missed shifts start going off my record. 2) My new (well, second; I've had him for a while now) supervisor actually stops by to QA me and check in on things and stuff. Much better than my first one. 3) Related to that--My average handle time last month was somewhere around 18 minutes; my supervisor wants it at 15 minutes. So now I actually have a goal. Not sure how good a job I've been doing at it so far this month, but my average hasn't gone over 22 minutes for any given day that I'm aware of. 4) Haven't had any QAs recently, hoping that I don't accidentally autofail any. I'm still kinda sloppy about the "In-Home Agent" thing; need to try to work that in to the body of the conversation more. 5) I don't dread my job like I used to... but it's still draining and completely unfulfilling. It's standard Basic Tech Support, but it's corporate/rushed and it's breadth-first rather than depth-first relationships. I mean, you want ME to try to make nice with someone I've never seen before and never will talk to again? That's ludicrous. So, yes, I admit I've been taking days off when I really should not have. I'm not allowed (says I) to take any more days off this month though; I'm going back home for Pasover on the 22nd, and although I got that scheduled off, it'll cut into my hours and I do kinda need those, so... now I've missed my first day this month and I've already got my second day scheduled off, so I'm just gonna have to suck it up. And not be sick anymore, though today (aside from a sore throat when I woke up) I've not been feeling any real congestion. Mebbe it's the sudafed I was taking yesterday, or mebbe I'm just better now. Still, I'm glad I only have two days before I get another break, even if theese one-day breaks don't feel like an actual break :/ |

| Ah yes, mah kittehs... Big Rog and Red are quite the odd couple... Rog being the cool, collected kitteh, while Red is the hyperactive, and often jealous kitteh. Red gets especially jealous when Big Rog gets to do something that Red doesn't! In this case, Big Rog got to spend some time outside, while Red was left inside to watch. And Red, being true to his character, lets his jealousy come out! Enjoy! | ||||||||
