If you want to see what I believe is the ideal way that a GM would want to see combat turn out you must look to Hollywood. Public Enemies (Sorry it stars Johnny Dep) had an excellent scene " I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Just a Conlang ... so far |
" I believe it's the way that every GM would want a combat sequence to flow especially on a large scale.|||||||||||

I guess my question is, what type of GM are we talking here? The kind that puts together a great mission, and is happy when the participants use their brains and cunning to the max to figure out the puzzle and successfully complete the mission? Or the kind that relishes in torturing the participants in a quest filled with impossible challenges that make the GM squeal with glee as character after character drops dead?

There are no impossible challenges, only unplayable ones. ...So, I should see that movie sometime, eh? (Oh, and I raise you two kilos C4. Unless we're playing at DBZ levels, in which case Piccolo Blows Up the Moon!! In, like, the second story arc. That man is my hero.) Rule #1: There are always exceptions to the rules. |

Why thank you
Why thank you... of course I wouldn't know any GMs like that. Seriously though, I just mean about how to manage a combat scene and how the turns flow what matters is that all the players have fun, and what I'm talking about is GM management. I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Just a Conlang ... so far |

I'm wondering why you would feel the need to defend your honor... ... maybe I'm not reading enough into my own posts. And the TGBBCode is sooooo hard to use especially when they are
All of the button use images to display what they are for a third reason which I didn't think through enough Okay feel free to defend your honor now ;) BTW: Great to see you on!!! I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Just a Conlang ... so far |

well it sounded almost like you were making a direct refference to when the you dropped a building on your troll and I had zombies eat the rest of you. Only one character made it out alive.
::sigh:: whuch is exactly why I was kicking myself :S :S |

Actually... no. I was making a reference to the movie. It was a scene in the movie which is why I hid it in the Spoiler. I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Just a Conlang ... so far |

Here, I thought that mebbe I had screwed up the TGBBCode somewhere! If you would like a full reference to the syntax I used, here is a link to the blog article discussing this: REFERENCE. This way, if you're a purist and absolutely refuse to use the easy-to-use buttons, you can just go old-school and hand-type everything! I do have some safeguards built in, so you shouldn't be able to screw up anything if you mistype the code. Silly Emo... |

@ TGB
Alas, No! This was 110% my carelessness. The TGBCode is fine. I made the cardinal Markup Language mistake of forgetting the closing tag (actually more specifically I typed my response immediately before the close quote tag as if it was a /HTML tag :S ) And while we're talking features I am really pleased with the spell check in the forums. It helps me sound like less of an idiot, and that is much appreciated. @ Gryfang
... ... ::blink:: ... ... wow. I guess I'll need to see that gunfight then. |
