Well, didn't see anything this past weekend, but there *are* several movies coming out the rest of this month. First up: "The Happening". Not quite sure what I'm gonna think of it, as it seems to be about an epidemic of suicides... Ew. Some of them could be pretty gory, too. v_v And then there's what looks like a bunch of bodies floating around, which just confuses me. :: shrugs :: We'll see how it works out. OTOH, they talk about all the honeybees disappearing--bonus points for that! ^_^ I may watch "Signs" (one of the few Shyamalan movies I haven't seen yet) on Thursday as a warmup, but no promises ;) Rule #1: There are always exceptions to the rules. |

Other than The Happening, here are the movies I want to see this month: 1) The Incredible Hulk - superhero movie. 'nuff said. 2) Kung-Fu Panda - This is replacing Zohan on my list. I'm just starting to enjoy the previews, sad to say. Plus, it got an all-around good reception by critics. 3) Get Smart - I want to see this one more and more! 4) WALL-E - Pixar. 'nuff said. Possible movie to see, if I have nothing else better to do or see? Wanted. Silly Emo... |

OK, we went to see the Hulk, and while I admit I was kinda tired and haven't seen the first movie in ages... I largely agree with Mr. Clevenger on this one: http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=080617 (plus you get a free sprite comic! What more can you want?) Well, other than /I/ liked the panels-thing in the first movie. Won't say I'd like to see it often, but it helped keep my interest. The latest movie... Liv Tyler is good at crying, but I already knew that. I think it woulda been a better movie without the Hulk, actually. And weren't there supposed to be tanks somewhere? he only did the "rip vehicle in half and dual-weild the halves" at the end of the movie. Well, ok, he kinda did it with the sculpture at the college, so maybe I misinterpreted the trailers. Anyway, I should probably rewatch both movies back-to-back before I give a real solid opinion, but at this point I think the first movie did a better job, even if parts of it were also worse. "Solidly mediocre" is not better than "Awesome + suck", IMO. Hulk gets a 5.5 from me; it's about as bad as the trailers implied. The jeep-mounted sonic cannon were a nice touch, though.
