  Two Words:
"Girl Genius".
Start at the beginning: http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20021104

Found that last week at work, and (having nothing to do but answer the phone) I read it in one day. Is /long/, but I'm a huge fan of long plots--and this one may just get a "S" rank for plot. Plus it feels like turn-of-the-last-century science fiction, so what's not to love? ;)

  What's your favorite?
S rank is no small review, and I like that one, but usually, "Order of the stick" http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0001.html
is my favorite, except when Were Geek
http://www.weregeek.com/
does a story arch from Shadow Run.

  My /favorite/ ?

That's *really* hard to pick!

Megatokyo (www.megatokyo.com) is the classic "best webcomic" for me, but that included tha artist's rants--and he's been much more quiet after getting married and having a baby. It's still got really good parts, but waiting for the next bit to come out makes things drag on too much. I'm hoping to get the printed versions so I can have a better opinion on the actual story construction.

OotS (and Erfworld, both at giantitp.com) are also really good, agreed. Erfworld is a bit more my speed--the humour seems more incidental, less "we must have a joke every N frames"--but OotS has picked up enough of a plot to maintain my interest.

I'm still reading 8-Bit Theater (nuklearpower.com) ; it has parts I don't like, but apparently this is the sort of stupidity that I actually enjoy.

Girl Genius (and possibly Buck Godot, written previously by the same people and just now being posted to teh nets) are really good, as I mentioned before; I just don't want to say something's my "favorite" and then have it bomb ;) Went through that with the Wheel of Time, now I don't like recommending much that isn't finished.

hey, suggesting unfinished stuff is about all we get with web comics (although if you want an exeption, head to wish3.net, hope that's still up. It's pretty cool, esp if you like marginal amounts of japanese in your comic) I'll go check out that other comic by the GG guys...right after I take all these bloody exams.
